Have you seen the Simon Says Stamp June card kit? I have just ordered mine and imagine that I’m still waiting for the May card kit to arrive! But that flower stamp set is too good to resist! Meanwhile I’m still enjoying the April card kit! This Beautiful Day stamp set is perfect for colorful spring cards!

Card #1

I stamped and colored the images with copic markers before fuzzy cutting it all out. Here’s the colors I used:

Leaves: YG03, YG17

Butterfly: RV10, RV11, RV13, Rv14 and Y11, Y19

For the background I blended some Broken China Distress Oxide ink with the Tim Holtz Blending Brush for a soft look, spritzed some water and dubbed with a paper towel. I also stamped a few of the solid butterflies from the set in Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink ink and the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I used a stitched rectangle die to give a finished look to my panel before adhering the colored elements with foam squares.

The whole panel was then foam mounted onto a standard A2 card base made out of Simon Says Stamp Green Apple card stock.

As a final touch I added lots of white Nuvo drops here and there and gave my butterfly some shimmer with the help of Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen.

Card #2

Next I had some fun using the stencil that was included in the kit. After blending some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink (also included) I added splotches of both water and shimmer mist and dubbed with a dry cloth. Then I placed the stencil on top and went over it with Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. I stamped a few more butterflies, using the same Oxide ink and the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I trimmed it down to be slightly smaller than a standard card and foam mounted it on a card base made with the Island Blue card stock that was in the kit.

Bonus card

Lastly, here’s a card I made using the delightful Carta Bella Spring Market papers and stickers from the Simon Says Stamp March card Kit. No stamping or coloring on this card! Kind of weird!

I chose the pretty green plaid paper, trimmed it to be an A2 size, then fuzzy cut the flower border from one of the other papers and foam mounted it at the base of the card. One of the chipboard phrases was adhered to be the sentiment of the card and a few enamel accents from the same Carta Bella collection that I had in my stash were added on top.

So, all of the above cards enter the AAA Cards Game #115: Inspired by Nature
