Hi crafters! Today’s post is a really fun one! I combined a few of the recent Simon Says Stamp stamp sets to create a bunch of fun summer cards. I started by coloring lots of the Under The Sea Animals with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and die cut it all out using the coordinating dies. Then continued by working on my backgrounds.
For the first card I went with the obvious, ink blending with distress oxide inks. I used Peacock feathers first and then I placed the Simon Says Stamp Waves stencil and went over it with Faded Jeans distress oxide ink. Stamped the sentiment, which comes from the Simon Says Stamp Vacation Time stamp set, and foam mounted the two adorable fishes. Finally added drops of Nuvo Morning Dew here and there to look as bubbles and the panel was foam mounted onto a standard A2 card base.
Here I started by blending some Faded Jeans distress oxide through the Altenew Watercolor Stripes stencil before adding some drops of clear water to help the ink oxidize. Stamped half of the sentiment directly on the panel and white heat embossed the rest. I used foam squares to put the three little crabs in place and white Nuvo drops to embellish.
For the third card I stamped the rectangle solid image from the Simon Says Stamp Brushstroke Messages stamp set. I keep coming back to this set again and again. It makes it so easy to add interest to your background! So here I used a yellow, a mint and a gray ink, stamped the sentiment and foam mounted the snails on top.
For card #4 I went with a really effective technique, ink smooshing. The colors I used are Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans distress oxide inks and the same in distress inks. I splattered a few droplets of both water and shimmer spay. The sentiment was stamped with Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy ink and I foam mounted the two whale looking fishes.
I still have many more colored animals to put on cards, so stay tuned for more summer cards.
I hope I’ve given you some summer inspiration. Thank you for visiting and I’ll see you soon!
