Hi everyone! Good to see you here! Spring is finally only one day away and I bet you all have a bunch of beautiful flower stamp images! So it’s time to wake the florist inside us up and start creating!
Start by picking your flowers from your stamp garden. I chose one of the flowers and all the leaves included in the Altenew Perfectly Perfect stamp set (you must know by now that this is my most loved stamp set), a flower image from the Peony Bouquet stamp set and the smaller flowers are from the Beautiful Day stamp set.
Then arrange your flowers by stamping it on a piece of printer paper to decide how you like it. When you know which image will be on top of everything prepare a mask of that image by stamping it on masking paper then fussy cutting it with your scissors. Instructor Svitlana Stayevich shows all you need to know about masking in the Masking Unleashed class at the Altenew Academy.
For my arrangement I needed only two masks of the same flower. So I started by stamping one flower, then placed the mask on top, stamped the second flower and some leaves, placed the second mask on top and so on.
With my flower cluster ready I pulled out my copics and started coloring. Here’s the colors I used:
Pink flowers: RV10, RV11, R83, R85
Green leaves: YG03, YG63, YG67
Blue leaves: BG70, BG72, BG75
Yellow flowers: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y35
Blue flowers: B00, B02, B05
I fussy cut the image and left aside. For the background I decided to go with a Neenah Solar White card base paired with a panel made with the Watercolor Stripes cover die and Pale Gray cardstock. I added lots of dark gray splattering to give it some character and die cut one of the words included in the Script Words die set. Then foam mounted everything ontop of the panel and called it done!
It may be a little bit of time consuming to mask and stamp and fussy cut but imagine the numerous combinations you can do with your stamps! And if you’re like me, then I know you’ll enjoy the process anyway!
Thank you for stopping by today! It’s officially flower season so go ahead and add some flowers to your day! Have a happy Spring!
I’d like to enter this card to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.
